The CVQG has assisted greatly with the success of the Texas Quilt Museum, and your skills would be welcomed at the IQF. We are hoping that some of the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild members would be interested in helping us at the International Quilt Festival (IQF) on Sunday, November 11 from 10 am to 4 pm.
The Guild is filled with dependable people. If those of you who regularly attend Festival would like to see the show from a different perspective we can use you! Our challenge is on Sunday. Taking down a show filled with over 1500 quilts takes more than 8 hours. If the team leaders work during the day and then do take down, their day is 16 hours long. It is excruciating and the take down is physical.
We need able, courteous people to help as Show Assistants on Sunday between 10 am to 4 pm so the take down team leaders can rest during the day before taking down the show. The jobs that need to be covered are not difficult: taking tickets, working at the information booth, the commemorative booth, and possibly running items from one hall to the other. The shifts are 3 to 4 hours long.
Show assistants are paid $7.25 an hour, parking is reimbursed (up to $18) and they receive free entry (a $12 value) for each day worked. If you will be at Festival, would you consider helping us?
If interested, please contact Terri Winsauer by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please put Houston – Colorado Valley Quilt Guild on the subject line.
Or email Becky Navarro at email@example.com.
You will be added to the Show Assistant database and be contacted by email in September. The shifts are given on a first come first serve basis, so you will want to send in your schedule as soon as possible!
