• Quilts-on-the-Square - merchants around the courthouse square (and inside Bistro 108) display quilts by local quilt makers. Quilts will be on display February 15 through March 1.
• Miniature Quilt Exhibit at the Chamber of Commerce (Old City Jail), 171 S Main Street. Quilts will be displayed during the month of February. Our Judge, Carol Morrissey
Carol Morrissey has been quilting for nearly 25 years. She loves quilts of all kinds, from antique to ultra-contemporary. Because she is also a gardener and photographer, her quilts often reflect her love of flowers and nature. In 2003, she began designing quilt patterns for Quilt Country in Lewisville, Texas, and in 2004 she started her own quilt pattern company, OCarol. She enjoys visiting quilt guilds, giving programs and workshops, teaching various techniques such as free-motion machine quilting, using fabric inks and paints, fused flower projects, thread painting and teaching quilters how to create their own original designs. In her spare time, she enjoys dyeing fabric. She is a member of the Quilters Guild of Dallas, the Denton Quilt Guild, the Cross Timbers Studio Artists, Studio Art Quilters Association, International Quilt Association, American, American Quilter’s Society, the Visual Arts Society of Texas, Dallas Area Fiber Artists and The Twisted Stitchers. She lives in Double Oak, Texas, just north of Dallas.
