The quilt is the guild’s contribution for the October 22 Casino Night Live Auction fundraising event of the Foundation. The quilt was made by members of the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild, using Civil War reproduction fabrics, and was quilted by Kristi Grigsby.
Be on the look-out for some Big, Bold Baskets from the Dot Collins Workshop participants last month. Dot taught the group how to turn striped fabric into a woven basket and then fill that basket with flowers – either strip piecing them or really filling the basket with broderie persed flowers.
The class then learned techniques for strip piecing 4 fabrics to form triangles that bordered that big basket of flowers. Workshop participants were Jackie Asbill, Brenda Camp, Dianna Foster, Jo Ann Gore, Kristi Grigsby, Debbie Higgins, Wanda Hubbard, Jo Knox, and Kay Marburger.
